Abstract
This qualitative descriptive study aims to analyze algebraic thinking skills based on students' AQ. Study subjects consisting of 3 students were selected using purposive sampling technique with maximal variation purpose type. There are differences in algebraic thinking skills between quitters, campers, and climbers. Indicators of algebraic thinking skills that can be met by quitters students are writing down what is known from the questions, determining variables, and making mathematical models of variables according to the questions. Campers students can meet several indicators of algebraic thinking skills, including being able to determine variables, compiling mathematical models from variables, using mathematical models to solve problems and applying variable values to determine solutions to problems. Climbers students can fulfill all indicators of algebraic thinking skills.
