Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui kemampuan komunikasi matematispeserta didik yang mendapatkan model Learning Cycle berbantuan alat peragamateri bangun ruang mencapai ketuntasan belajar dan mengetahui kemampuankomunikasi matematis peserta didik yang mendapatkan model Learning Cycleberbantuan alat peraga lebih baik daripada peserta didik yang mendapatkanpembelajaran ekspositori berbantuan alat peraga. Populasi dalam penelitian iniadalah peserta didik kelas VIII SMP Negeri 1 Selomerto tahun pelajaran2012/2013 yang tersebar dalam enam kelas. Penelitian ini menggunakan desainQuasi Eksperimen mengacu tipe Posttest-Only Control Design. Sampel dalampenelitian ini diambil secara cluster random sampling, terpilih peserta didik kelasVIII E sebagai kelas kontrol mendapatkan pembelajaran ekspositori berbantuanalat peraga dan peserta didik kelas VIII F sebagai kelas eksperimen dengan modelLearning Cycle berbantuan alat peraga. Uji ketuntasan belajar menunjukkanbahwa kemampuan komunikasi matematis peserta didik kelas eksperimen telahmencapai ketuntasan belajar. Uji perbedaan rata-rata menunjukkan bahwakemampuan komunikasi matematis peserta didik kelas eksperimen lebih baikdaripada kemampuan komunikasi matematis peserta didik kontrol. Hasilpenelitian menunjukkan bahwa kemampuan komunikasi matematis peserta didikkelas eksperimen telah mencapai ketuntasan belajar dan kemampuan komunikasimatematis peserta didik kelas eksperimen lebih baik dari kelas kontrol.

This research design is quasi experiment with postest­only controldesign type. From the result of the test was obtained that mathematic communicationability of student in the experimental class has reached the learning completeness. Fromthe averages similiarity test results, gotten the mathematic communication ability ofstudents in experimental class is better than control class. The results showed that themathematic communication ability of student in the experimental class has reached thelearning completeness and mathematic communication ability of students in experimentalclass is better than control class.
