Abstract
This study discusses the racial segregation, especially towards black women, that happened in the novel and film entitled Hidden Figures. This research aims to compare the racial segregation that happens toward black female characters and analyze the changes between the novel and film. Hidden Figures describes the struggles of black female characters against racial segregation, gender discrimination and oppression at NASA. This research used qualitative and comparative methods. The researcher employs feminist approach, especially black feminism by Patricia Hill Collins, to determine the racial segregation experienced by female characters and literature to film adaptation theory to find out the infidelity in novel and film Hidden Figures and also the implication of the infidelity. The researcher also combines it with an intrinsic element of novel and intrinsic element of film to support the data. The results of the study show that there are several types of racial segregation towards black women and their infidelity in novel and film Hidden Figures and also the implication of the infidelity of racial segregation in both literature.
