Abstract

This research aims to: (1) describe the characteristics of STREAM-based learning media; (2) analyzing the suitability of the media; and (3) analyzing the level of media effectiveness. This research is a Research and Development study with a 4D model (Define, Design, Develop, and Disseminate). At the define, design and develop stages, problem analysis is carried out and the media is developed until it is declared suitable for use. At the disseminate stage, a quasi experimental design research design was carried out in the form of a pretest-posttest control group design to determine the effectiveness of the media. The data obtained are (1) data on the validity of STREAM-based learning media and media readability responses; (2) data on students' scientific literacy, and (3) data on students' science process skills. The research subjects were 56 class IV students at SDN Srondol Wetan 06. Data collection techniques used interviews, expert judgment, media readability questionnaires, observation of science process skills and scientific literacy tests. The data analysis technique uses the Aiken's V formula to determine the suitability of the media and uses the normality test, independent t test, and N-Gain test to determine the effectiveness of the media. The research results show that (1) the characteristics of the media are in the form of STREAM aspects (Science, Technology, Religion, Engineering, Arts and Mathematics) which are linked to the material in an integrated manner, the material is presented based on the domains of scientific literacy and science process skills, the media is interactive with customized animations towards the material (2) the suitability of the media is assessed through 3 aspects. The material aspect received a V Aiken value of 0.93, the media aspect received a V Aiken value of 0.94, and the language aspect received a V Aiken value of 0.95. Overall, from the material, media and language aspects, the V aiken value was 0.94, which is included in the valid category. Students' readability received a V aiken value of 0.93 in the valid category. (3) the effectiveness of the media to increase. Scientific literacy can be seen from the N-Gain test results of 0.72 in the experimental class with "high" criteria, while in the control class the N-Gain was 0.37 with "medium" criteria. Meanwhile, the effectiveness of the media in increasing KPS can be seen from the percentage score for the experimental class which got 93.5% on the "very good" criteria, while the control class got 85.78% on the "good" criteria. Based on the research results, it can be concluded that STREAM-based learning media is valid and effective in improving students' scientific literacy and process skills.
