Abstract

During the science learning process for sixth-grade students at SDN 01 Karyomukti, it was observed that the majority of students exhibited low academic performance. This was attributed to a lack of motivation, enthusiasm, and engagement, leading to passive participation. Additionally, there was a low response rate from students to the teacher's questions and explanations, coupled with inadequate focus. To address these issues and enhance both student learning outcomes and collaboration, the STAD-PjBL collaborative learning model, supported by diorama media, was implemented to actively involve students. This study employed an experimental research design, specifically a non-equivalent control group design. An initial test (pretest) was conducted for both the control and experimental classes, followed by different treatments for each group, and concluded with a final test (posttest). The subjects of this study comprised 16 sixthgrade students from SDN 01 Karyomukti as the experimental class and 13 sixthgrade students from SDN 02 Karyomukti as the control class. The pretest and posttest results revealed a significant average increase of 75% in the experimental class using the STAD-PjBL collaborative model with diorama media. According to the descriptive output of the N-Gain test, the experimental class achieved an average N-Gain score of 84.91%. An N-Gain score exceeding 76% is considered effective. Based on the research findings, it can be concluded that the collaborative STAD-PjBL model, supported by diorama media, is effective for teaching eclipse material to sixth-grade students at SDN 01 Karyomukti.
