Abstract

A Song is a medium for someone to convey something to their listeners. One of the singers who is currently hitting because of her song is Olivia Rodrigo, she released the album Sour which contains 11 songs in it. In this album, the researcher wants to know how Olivia conveys the ideational meaning in her songs so that the messages contained in them can be conveyed properly to the listeners. Qualitative methods are used in this research. To find the ideational meaning of the songs in the album, the researcher uses a transitivity analysis system that contains processes, participants, and circumstances to analyze this album. Of the three elements, Process is the center of the elemental. Process is divided into six components, namely Mental, Material, Relational, Behavioral, Verbal, and Existential processes. The result is that mental processes become dominant. It can be concluded that Olivia conveys what is meant in her songs by describing what she feels.
