Abstract

This research aims to identify and analyze the symbols used to represent nature in Björk’s album Vespertine and how these symbols contribute to the themes of the album in relation to ecocriticism of the human-nature relationship. The study applies Semiotics and Ecocriticism approaches to analyze the nature symbolism in the song lyrics of Björk’s Vespertine Album. The data are collected from the song lyrics of the album, and the analysis is conducted to interpret the use of nature symbolism in the song lyrics of Björk’s Vespertine Album. The research objectives are to identify the nature symbolism in the song lyrics of Björk’s Vespertine Album and to analyze and interpret the use of nature symbolism in the song lyrics of Björk’s Vespertine Album in relation to the ecological themes and human-nature relationship. The findings of this research provide insights into the ways that nature symbols are used in song lyrics to convey ecological themes and the relationship between humans and nature
