Abstract

Tourism is a sector that has the potential to be developed as a source of the local economy and regional income. One of the regencies that also continues to develop tourism in Indonesia is Pemalang Regency. The development of tourism in Pemalang Regency certainly has an influence on the lives of the surrounding community, including in Penggarit Village, Taman District, Pemalang Regency which has great tourism potential, namely the Benowo Park tourist attraction. The aims of this study were: (1) To find out the current condition of Benowo Park tourism development towards the surrounding environment. (2) To know the community's economic activities (service business activities, and trade) in the Benowo Park tourist area in Penggarit Village, Taman District, Pemalang Regency. (3) Knowing the impact of the existence of the Benowo Park tourist area on changes in the economic life of the people of Penggarit Village, Taman District, Pemalang Regency. The method used in this research is descriptive qualitative research. Data collection techniques used observation, interviews, and documentation. The location of this research is the Benowo Park Tourism Object, Penggarit Village, Taman District, Pemalang Regency. The main informants are the Penggarit Village Community participates in tourism development and the supporting informants in this study are the Penggarit Village Head, the manager of the Benowo Park Pokdarwis tourism object in Penggarit Village, and the Benowo Park tourist attraction. The triangulation test in this research uses the source triangulation technique. Technical data analysis uses interactive analysis from Miles and Huberman (1984) in Sugiyono (2018). The results of the study stated that the conditions for the development of the Benowo Park tourist attraction were to the potential of Penggarit Village. There are two community economic activities carried out around Benowo Park tourism, namely trading businesses and service businesses. As for the positive and negative impacts on the economy of the people in Penggarit Village, there are four positive impacts, namely: (1) Government Income, (2) employment, (3) Infrastructure Development (4) Developing community capabilities, and (5) Community Income. Then the negative impact is too much dependence on tourism and seasonal gaps. The development of Benowo Park tourism can attract tourists so that local people can develop business opportunities that improve the economy of the people of Pengarit Village
