Abstract

No Longer human tells a story about Yozo whose feels disqualified as a human being, he always wondering what is to be a human and how he lives in a human world. The novel shows life journey of Yozo in a form of note that found by someone. Osamu Dazai as the author of this novel portrait Yozo life in the first person perspective. In the novel Yozo lives his life by wondering every aspect he found that there in human being; eat, sleep, work. Also by the time Yozo grown up, he sees human being from different perspective, his own perspective. Yozo has own thought about human being and human life such as, human is full of deceive, human must be confident, human is complicated being. From what he through in his life he decided to claim that he is no longer human. This study method is qualitative research and the data were collected by reading, identifying, classifying. Deconstruction is used in this study as the approach in analyzing the text. The study aims to find what is the portrayal of human being by the main character’s perpsective and questioning what is human being based on the main character’s perspective. This study has binary oppositions to see the aphoria between center and margin perspective Yozo about human. As the results, this study found the main character didn’t realize his wondering about human and disqualified himself from human being make him a human being itsel
