Abstract

The objectives of this study were to identify the factors which influence students to use TikTok as an alternative platform to learn English grammar among high school students, to analyze how students learn English grammar using TikTok, and to find out the challenges of using TikTok as an alternative platform to learn English Grammar. This study was categorized as a qualitative research method by using a descriptive qualitative approach. The subjects of this research consisted of 110 respondents. The instrument to collect the data were questionnaire and interview. According to the research findings and discussion, it can be concluded that the implementation of TikTok as one of the social media platforms used by high school students to learn English grammar indicated a positive result because it influenced their learning positively and provided them with interesting yet informative video-based English Grammar materials. But they were also facing a challenges in utilizing TikTok for learning. This findings of this study also can supported their independent learning method represented in the LBC theory among high school students. Some implications of utilizing TikTok for learning English grammar also discussed in this study
