Abstract
History learning at SMA N 4 Purwokerto class X IPS suggeststhat in the learning process teachers still use the lecture learning method, so students have not been actively involved in the learning process. This makes students tend to be more passive. Therefore, researchers will apply the STAD cooperative learning model. The objectives of this study are (1) To determine the application of the STAD cooperative model to the history learning of class X social studies students at SMA N 4 Purwokerto; (2) To find out the application of the lecture model to the history learning of class X social studies students at SMA N 4 Purwokerto; and (3) To find out the differences in the achievement of student history learning outcomes by using the STAD cooperative model and the lecture model for discussing the Early Life of Indonesian Pre-Literacy Humans at SMA N 4 Purwokerto. This study used a quasi eksperimen design using a nonrandomized control group approach with quantitative methods. The population in this study was all students of class X social studies SMA N 4 Purwokerto. As for the experiment class using class X IPS 2 and the control class using class X IPS 1 which was selected through purposive sampling techniques. The method of data collection uses tests and observations. The results of this study are (1) The application of the STAD cooperative learning model to history learning at SMA N 4 Purwokerto runs smoothly and in accordance with the rpp. Siswa seems to be passionate and active in group k activities; (2) The application of the lecture learning model to history learning at SMA N 4 Purwokerto went well and smoothly in accordance with the rpp. However, in the learning process of lectures given to control classes students tend to be passive (3) There are differences in the achievement of student learning outcomes given the STAD cooperative learning model and the lecture learning model on the subject matter of the Early Life of Indonesian Pre-Literacy Humans between students. This is proved from hypothesis tests. Based on the results of the hypothesis test with the Mann-Whitney U test obtained Asymp. Sig. (2-tailed) less than 0.05 i.e. 0.009. Because of Asymp. Sig. (2-tailed) < 0.05 then H0 is rejected, this means that there is a difference in the achievement of student learning outcomes in the experiment class and the control class. The suggestion in this study is that teachers should use the STAD cooperative model in the learning process to improve the achievement of student learning outcomes in specialization history subjects.
