Abstract

The lack of sensitivity of students to historical heritage makes them not aware that the historical heritage they already know has historical value to be proud of. Therefore, the role of the teacher is needed so that students are not only able to understand the material but they are able to recognize evidence of historical heritage as a tool in learning history such as the use of the Liyangan Site. In particular, this study aims to determine (1) the use of the Liyangan Site as a source of history learning for students at SMK Negeri 2 Temanggung; (2) the obstacles faced by history teachers in utilizing the Liyangan site at SMK Negeri 2 Temanggung: (3) the efforts of history teachers in dealing with obstacles in using the Liyangan site as a source of learning history at SMK Negeri 2 Temanggung. The method used in this research is qualitative with the design used is a case study. Data collection was carried out using interviews, documentation, and observation techniques. Interviews were conducted with Liyangan site managers, history teachers and class X students at SMK Negeri 2 Temanggung. Then the data that has been collected is processed using qualitative data analysis techniques in the form of data collection, data reduction, data presentation, and drawing conclusions. The results in this study indicate that: (1) The Liyangan site has been used by history teachers at SMK Negeri 2 Temanggung as a learning resource in learning history. In utilizing the Liyangan Site, the teacher provides explanations in class and assignments in the form of independent visits/self-observation. By utilizing historical sites, it is able to add to students' insights and students' enthusiasm so that they are able to produce the learning objectives expected by the teacher. (2) The main obstacles that become obstacles for history teachers in utilizing the Liyangan Site are time, distance, permits and internal factors from both teachers and students. (3) Efforts in dealing with time constraints on observation assignments, efforts in dealing with distance constraints by learning through PPT slide media and the internet, efforts in dealing with licensing constraints by giving observation assignments on holidays, efforts in dealing with teachers and students constraints, namely with explanations in class and then students were asked to make a report on the results of their observations. Referring to the results of the research and the findings of the researchers, it can be concluded that the use of the Liyangan Site has been put to good use by history teachers at SMK Negeri 2 Temanggung. The existence of obstacles does not become a significant obstacle because the teacher seeks various ways so that the Liyangan Site can be used as a source of history learning for students. Based on the results of the research and conclusions, it is suggested that the Liyangan Site can be used as an alternative as a source of learning in history lessons.viii
