Abstract
Phosphate glass has been successfully made with compotition P O -MgO dan P O -CaO by melt quenching technique. The 2 5 2 5 0 process of making glass forming material by heating at a temperature 850 C and maintained for 30 minutes. Glass samlpe prepared with the compotition of phosphate 85%, 80%, 75%, 70%. Phosphate glass produced with 80% compotitions which have good transparency properties and do not break when molded. The result of optical analysis shows phosphate glass with modifier MgO has good optical properties than CaO. Taken as a macroscopic phosphate glass with MgO modifier is more transparent than with CaO, so that both glass allows for futher applications.
