Abstract

Nomophobia is the tendency of a person who can't part on the smartphone. Based on the preliminary studies performed are the symptoms of nomophobia which is visible from the tendency of the symptoms of nomophobia on student of Semarang State University. Symptoms are most prominent from nomophobia is the duration of smartphone usage more than 6 hours, the use of a smartphone without any purpose and feel anxious if the thought of not there is a smartphone in front of him and one of the reasons the student is not able to part with smartphones, due to a sense of loneliness has no friends. The subjects in this study were women aged 18-25 years old, student of Semarang State University and has a smartphone for more than one year. The number of samples in this research are as many as 350 people. Sampling in this study using simple random sampling. The research Data was taken using a scale of nomophobia that NMPQ and the scale of loneliness that UCLA Version 3. Methods of data analysis using the Technique of the analysis of product moment correlation. The results showed kooefisien correlation between loneliness against the tendency of nomophobia of 0.175. The value of significance in this study as much as 0,001. Therefore, with the results of 0.001 > 0.05 then there is a positive relationship between the variables of loneliness to the variable tendency of nomophobia. In addition, the variable nomophobia is in the category of being that is equal to 58% and the variable of loneliness is in the category of being that is equal to 49%
