Abstract

Tuberculosis (TB) is a disease that is still a public health problem. Resistance to tuberculosis treatment is one of the health problems in the world. Based on data the Central Java Provincial Health Office from January to September 2019, there were 775 confirmed cases of MDR TB cases. Based on data from the Department of Health Semarang City in 2019, the number of MDR TB cases in primary health care in Semarang City in 2017-2020 was 128 cases. This type of research is observational analytic with a case-control design. The samples of this research were 35 cases and 35 controls with a consecutive sampling technique. The instruments used were questionnaires and medical records with interview guides. Data analysis using SPSS devices. Of the total 70 respondents, there were 36 (51.4%) female and 34 (48.6%) male. Factors associated with the occurrence of MDR TB were economic level (p=0,01; OR=3.43), history contact with MDR TB patients (p<0,01; OR=2.40), treatment history (p=0.02;OR=3.54), and history of stress (p=0,01; OR=4,58). The suggestion of this research are health officers routinely ask patients about side effects of drugs, patients routinely take medication, and manage stress well.
