Abstract

This research is located on Jl. Ciliwung RT 01 RW IV Sidosari Housing has a background from poor waste management, low public awareness of sorting waste, participation in community empowerment is one of the efforts to reduce piles and waste pollution. This study aims to determine how the description of behavior in managing waste. This study uses a qualitative approach with qualitative methods. Retrieval of data from observations of customers of the Sidosari Jaya Waste Bank, and open interviews, also using a list of questions, and supported by documentation data. Sampling or informants were 30, from that number it was concluded that 15 customers who had the enthusiasm to sort according to the correct criteria, and who had not sorted correctly or had not properly empowered 5, for the waste sorting behavior in general was in a good category, Behavioral measures of participatory empowerment are more dominant in the good category, namely 15 per 30 x 100% = 50%, 5 per 30 x 100% = 16.67. The focus of research is on waste management. The underlying theory, namely the mobilization of resources and the constructivism theory of balance and equality which forms an empowerment in community participation. Research data collection techniques through observation, interviews with related parties. Checking the validity of the data used triangulation techniques, so that only valid data were used to achieve the research results. Conclusion of the research results (1) Waste management based on the 3R concept through empowering community participation is more valid, effective, and efficient in managing waste (2) Waste bank management through empowering community participation in managing waste based on the 3R concept is proven to be better, compared to management waste that does not use community participation empowerment (3) Community empowerment increases community participation in managing waste based on the 3R concept. Suggestions for this study include (1) the Gardening Agency's commitment to implementing 3R concept-based waste management, (2) Officers and the community to play an active role in implementing 3R concept-based waste management (3) as family figures in sorting waste
