Abstract
The Indonesian motto is "Bhinneka Tunggal Ika" that expects Indonesian diversity to remain one. The diversity within the country of Indonesia is not always beautiful and comely, with various problems arising to the satisfaction of an intergroup relationship. Therefore, it is necessary to instill multicultural values through social learning at school and early family education. The purpose of this study is to describe the role of social learning in instilling multicultural values, the role of family in instilling multicultural values, and multicultural values implications. The study is a qualitative approach that uses case study design. Research subjects include six sixth graders and their parents. The techniques of data collecting are interviews, observation and documentation. The techniques of data validity are methods triangulation, source triangulation, and theory triangulation. The result of the research shows that (1) social learning can reinforce value and tolerance, mutual understanding, openness, diversity inclusivism; is knowledgeable in cultural diversity and social problems; build anti-crime and equality. (2) the role of the family in instilling multicultural values of families that foster different individuals from the tribe of the community, languages are unifying, parents have ways of enriching a child's knowledge, respecting one another without regard for the livelihood of people, Introducing one another religion (3) the implanting of multicultural values in social learning is the implanting of multicultural values as useful as unifying nations and conflict conflict. The implication of implanting multicultural values in the family is to produce an individual who has a high tolerance of others, respects one another with different tribes, religions and cultures, is more flexible and able to adapt easily under any circumstances, is to have many friends and be viewed as highly agreeable by friends and others. The suggestion from this study is a continuation of the implanting of multicultural values in the social of the sixth graders in elementary school and their family for further implications
