Abstract
Unemployment occurs because the comparison between the number of job opportunities offers is not proportional to the number of graduates at the University level. Entrepreneurship is one way to start a career in life future. However, entrepreneurship is not the main employment choice for Semarang State University students after graduating. This study aims to examine the role of the social environment in moderating the influence of entrepreneurial skills, entrepreneurial attitude, perceived desirability, subjective norm, and self-efficacy on entrepreneurial intentions. This type of research is quantitative research. The study design used a survey method with a questionnaire as an instrument for data collection. The population in this study were all students of Universitas Negeri Semarang force year 2017 amounting to 6.455 students. The samples used were 332 students determined based on the Isaac and Michael tables at a standard error of 5%. The sampling technique uses proportional random sampling. Data analysis techniques used descriptive statistical analysis, and moderated regression analysis. Descriptive analysis shows entrepreneurial skills, entrepreneurial attitudes, perceived desirability, subjective norms, self-efficacy, social environment and entrepreneurial intentions in the high category. The results of the study revealed entrepreneurial skills, entrepreneurial attitudes, perceived desirability, subjective norms had a positive effect on entrepreneurial intentions. Self-efficacy does not effect the entrepreneurial intentions. Social environment strengthens the effect of perceived desirability on entrepreneurial intentions. Social environment weakens entrepreneurial attitudes the influence of entrepreneurial intentions. Social environment does not moderate the effect of entrepreneurial skills, subjective norms and self-efficacy on entrepreneurial intentions. As conclusion, the social environment is able to positively moderate the effect of perception of desirability on entrepreneurial intentions but cannot moderate the influence of entrepreneurial skills, subjective norms and selfefficacy. Suggestions from researchers, students should prefer and believe that entrepreneurship is a lucrative job, students are expected to be able to divert their free time to positive things such as participating level UKM (Unit Student Activity) entrepreneurship in University and BSO (Semi Autonomous Unit) entrepreneurship in Faculty.
