Abstract
Damage caused to the structure of flexible pavements on Ring Road area, Weleri; Kendal was caused by overloaded vehicles traffic. This paper presents the calculation of the acting load on the assumption repetitive dynamic loads. One of the observed facts was the changes in the ESAL value on flexible pavement planning. Based on previous studies, road damage can be minimized using ESAL value on planning. However, the fact on the field shows that there still a lot of damage because of the load which passes through these roads. This study utilized a Seismic Monitoring tool. Seismic monitoring tool was utilized to detect ground vibration acceleration caused by the passing vehicles. Therefore, several functions can be obtained: vehicle frequency, natural frequency, damping ratio, spring constant and others - others. Those Functions were critical components in the calculation of dynamic ESAL factor.
