Abstract

The development of historical teaching materials aims to answer or solve problems and difficulties in learning. The objectives of this study were (1) to determine the perceptions of high school subjects in historical subjects regarding the development of teaching materials on historical material; (2) to find out the development of History teaching materials by Historical Subject High School Teachers; (3) to find out the evaluation used by the High School Subjects of Historical Subjects related to the teaching materials developed. The research method used in this study is descriptive qualitative. The location of the study was Semarang State High School 12 and Ibu Kartini High School. Sources of data in this study were informants namely History subject teachers, students, learning activities and documents. Data collection techniques use the method of observation, interviews and document studies. To test the objectivity and validity of the data using source triangulation and technique triangulation techniques. The data analysis technique uses the data analysis model Miles & Huberman which is an interaction analysis model which includes data collection, data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion drawing. The results of this study indicate that (1) history teachers reveal that the existence of historical teaching materials is very important in learning history and also the development of teaching materials will help students in improving the learning process; (2) history teachers reveal that the process of developing History teaching materials carried out by teachers in general is in accordance with the stages of developing teaching materials, and (3) evaluations used by teachers History related teaching materials are developed using evaluation in form of tests and non tests. The conclusion of this study is the development of important teaching materials for teachers in teaching in class to help students learn more about history. Suggestions given are teachers should develop History teaching materials by adjusting the conditions of students and the environment, in addition teachers should improve the preparation of teaching materials for learning, and also teachers must always increase creativity, motivation and variety in History learning so students will not feel bored. From the school, it must strive to complement the teaching and learning facilities and infrastructure to improve the quality of teachers in teaching and the quality of students in learning.
