Abstract

"Stom" water source is a source of water that has been utilized since the Dutch Colonial period. Locals use Stom water for daily needs such as consumption and production activities. It has two different locations like “Sendang” Stom and “Sumber” Stom. The purpose of this research is to know (1) public opinion related to Stom water source (2) Utilization of Stom Water Source to local community Water Source Stom (3) Impact caused by utilization of Stom water source. This research uses qualitative method, and the type of research is case study. The subject of this research is the community around "Stom" water source. Data collection techniques use observation, interviews, and documentation. Data analysis techniques include four stages: data collection, data reduction, data presentation and conclusions. The results show (1) The public view considers Stom's water resources as a blessing, an ancestral heritage, and a livelihood. (2) Utilization of community use for consumption (such as washing, bathing, drinking water and cooking), and production activities (selling water to other communities). It has two utilization patterns such as water flowing to the house, and up to the water source directly (3) The impact that society generates from the utilization of the Stom water source is Social: the emergence of symptoms of competition and thugs; Environment: Ecological damage in the surrounding area and major road damage; Economics: reduce monthly costs and as a source of livelihood. Suggestions proposed in this study include: (1) The community around the water source Stom must maintain the continuity of clean water. (2) The community undertakes maintenance at Stom water source (3) Implement good management through apply for permits to the local government.
