Abstract

The use of teaching media for Biology subject especially Animalia in Senior High School 1 Bawang is quite limited in line with the use of textbooks and power point slides which caused students are in the box have difficulties in order to understand the material. Based on the reason, it is important to expand some teaching media in the form of Slot Card. This study was aimed at first, understand the availability of teaching media for Animalia subject in Senior High School 1 Bawang. Second is understanding that there is necessary to expand the Slot Card media as the Biology teaching media variation. Third, understand the validity for the Slot Card based on the assessment standard of BSNP, and fourth, the Slot Card expediency in accordance with the students’ responses. This method is a research and development study, which the process is the Validation II step only. This study is researched at the even semester for year 2015/2016 in Senior High School 1 Bawang toward the class X (ten) in order to give response and suggestion to the expanded Slot Card media. The result of elaborating the Slot Card media in Animalia subject consists of 50 card which includes 15 cards for filum Mollusca and 35 cards for filum Arthropoda. The result of validity score presented 82,34 % in very valid result for the media presentation, and average score presented to 92,96% for the material assessment. Media which have validity tested is taking the testing at school which rewuires 35 students of X-2 class and teachers of Biology of class X (ten) of Senior High School 1 Bawang as the respondents. The result of students and teacher’s responses positively in which the media got very good in score of 95,42% for students and 88,89% for the teachers. The result of expert analysis from the students and teachers responses forms was resulted that the Animalia subject Slot Card media is very valid and appropriate for the Biology teaching media.
