Abstract
Aedes aegypti is vector of Dengue Hemorrhagic Fever (DHF) disease in tropical and subtropical countries, including Indonesia. Malathion is insecticide of DHF vector control. The use of malathion continuously can reduce the suspectibility level of the mosquito to insecticides. The research aim to determine the suspectibility status of Aedes aegypti to malathion insecticide in endemic villages of Kudus region. The research was experiment with cross sectional approach. Population was Aedes aegypti mosquitoes that located in the endemic, sporadic and potential villages in Kudus region. Samples was Aedes aegypti mosquitoes in endemic villages (Gribig village, Karangmalang village, and Besito village). Aedes aegypti mosquitoes were tested with suspectibility test and impregnated paper malathion 0.8%. This study resulted that Aedes aegypti mosquitoes in endemic villages were resistant to malathion with a mortality rate of 29%. Advice given to relevant agencies to replace and rotate suitable insecticides for DHF vector control.
