Abstract

Results of some studies focused on students’ passive voice mastery showed that students’ mastery of passive voice were low. The results made me decided to introduce Grammar-Quizzes.com as an alternative medium to help students mastering passive voice. The study was conducted to find out the significant difference between the group who learned using Grammar-Quizzes.com and who learned using worksheet in passive voice mastery. The design of this study was true-experimental study. The population of this study was the tenth graders of SMA N 1 Pekalongan. The sample of the study was chosen using purposive sample technique; X.7 as experimental group and X.4 as control group. The numbers of the students of each group were 29 students. The experimental group was asked to learn passive voice using Grammar-Quizzes.com, and the control group was asked to learn passive voice using worksheet. The data gathered from the pretest and posttest. To know the result of the study, the gathered data computed using T-test formula. The result showed that the Grammar-Quizzes.com was effective for students to learn passive voice. It could be seen from the t-test result that the t-value was higher than the t-table (4.34 > 1.67). It could be concluded that there was significant difference between experimental and control group. Therefore, Grammar-Quizzes.com can be used as an alternative medium in learning passive voice for senior high school students.
