This final project is aimed at analyzing the description of slavery as the ideology dissemination in slavery in Uncle Tom’s Cabin novel. This study is a descriptive qualitative study with sociology in literature and ideological criticism as the approaches. The data of the study are in the form of words, phrases, sentences, narrations and dialogues. The data are gained by reading the novel thoroughly, identifying, triangulating, inventorying, classifying, selecting, and reporting. The analysis is done by several techniques including exposing, explaining and interpreting. The results of the study are: first, slavery in Uncle Tom’s Cabin is described in two points: human trafficking and racism/discrimination. There are three systems in human trafficking: slave fetching, slave transaction and slavery purchase reason. The racism which occured manifested itself as discrimination which is described by the obliteration of black people’s right. Second, ideology dissemination in slavery in the story has three methods: informal education, institutional education, and cultural hegemony. From the study, it can be concluded that the spread of ideology is not a practice which deliberately obscured in slavery, but it is a practice which naturally arises from slavery itself. Based on the conclusions, several suggestions can be offered.
