Tri Utami, Deni P. 2012. The use of Macromedia Flash as visual aid to teach English Prepositions of written Descriptive Text for Seventh Graders of SMP N 1 Randublatung. A Final Project. English Department, Faculty of Languages and Arts Semarang State University. Advisors: 1. Drs. Amir Sisbiyanto 2. The topic of this study was the use of Macromedia Flash as visual aid media to teach English prepositions of written Descriptive Text for seventh graders of SMP N 1 Randublatung. The objectives of the study were to describe the improvement of students’ achievement in using preposition used in descriptive text after being taught using Macromedia Flash and to know whether there is the significant difference in students’ achievement in using Preposition in descriptive text between those who were taught using Macromedia Flash, and those who were taught without using Macromedia Flash or not. In order to achieve those objectives, I conducted an experimental research. The population of this study was the seventh graders of SMP 1 Randublatung. The experimental group was 7 G and the control group was 7 H. The experimental group was taught using Macromedia Flash control group was taught without using the media. Based on the result of the study, the pretest score of the experimental group was 70.66 and the posttest was 87.16, it can be concluded that the experimental group score got an improvement. After being compared with the control group students, the experimental group students’ score was higher than the control group. After being calculated using test of significance (t-test), the t-value was 4.95. Using interpolation, the t-table obtained was 2.0043. It was clear that t-value is higher than critical t-table. Therefore, there is a significant difference in students’ achievement that was taught using Macromedia Flash than the students who were taught without using Macromedia Flash. It indicates that using Macromedia Flash as visual aid is effective to be applied in class.
