Abstract

Inventory management information system helps in making the process of inventory management more effective and efficient. Junior high schools in Semarang City already have an inventory management information system for teachers and staff responsible for management to adopt. However, in the implementation process, the teachers and staff involved have not all adopted the system. On the other hand, teachers and staff do not understand the benefits of the system and not all of them have the skills and understanding in using technology and information systems. So it is important to study the behavior of using inventory management information systems in schools based on TAM theory which includes four things, namely perceived ease of use, perceived usefulness, behavioral intention, and use behavior. This study aims to reveal the influence of perceived ease of use, perceived usefulness, and behavioral intention on the behavior of using inventory management information systems in junior high schools. The quantitative method with a correlational approach was used in this study. Questionnaires as research instruments were distributed to 35 teachers or staff involved in management in junior high schools in Semarang City. The collected data were analyzed using path analysis with the help of the SmartPLS application. The results of hypothesis testing show that there is a direct effect of perceived ease of use on behavioral intention and use behavior of inventory information systems. Perceived usefulness also influences the behavioral intention and use behavior of using inventory management information systems in junior high schools. In addition, an indirect effect is also seen from perceived usefulness on the use behavior of using management information systems through behavioral intention. Not much different, perceived usefulness also has an indirect effect on the use behavior of inventory management information systems through behavioral intention. Thus, it can be concluded that the easier the inventory management information system is considered easy to use, the higher intention of teachers and staff to use the system. On the other hand, the more useful the inventory management information system is to help complete tasks, the higher intention of teachers and staff to use the system and ultimately use it in the work process. The findings are also taken into consideration in determining strategies to increase the adoption of inventory management information systems in schools as well as considerations in improving the quality of inventory management information systems.
