Abstract

This study was aimed at identifying the implementation of Sekolah Alam Curriculum in students’ character building at Sekolah Alam Pekalongan. The researchers applied quantitative research method with field research approach to analyse the problem. The data collection techniques used by the researchers were conducting an interview and an observation to the teachers and the students; and also documenting the learning activity at Sekolah Alam Pekalongan. Purposive technique was applied as the participants’ determination in this study. In this research, the researchers used Miles and Huberman data analysis design, which the steps are date reduction, data display, conclusion drawing and verification. The findings of this study show that1) the objective of the curriculum are providing independent learning concept for discovering students’ skill and interest, enhancing the quality of students’ character, building students’ leadership ability,2) the curriculum is integrating “Kurikulum 2013”,character and skill building, art, environmental approach, and logic into the learning material,3) the learning method applied is “action learning” concept by promoting a slogan “Belajar Bersama Alam (BBA)” (Learning with Nature), moreover the semester program form of Sekolah Alam Pekalongan is called “Spider Web”, 4) the curriculum of Sekolah Alam Pekalongan is evaluated every three months by the teachers.
