Abstract

The aims of the research were (1) to get a qualified description of Discovery Learning Model based on blended learning using Adobe Flash that were effective in improving students’ creative thinking ability, (2) to find out students’ mathematical curiosity pattern reviewed from cognitive model in Discovery Learning Model based on blended learning using Adobe Flash, (3) to learn about students’ pattern of mathematical creative thinking ability reviewed from cognitive model in Discovery Learning Model based on blended learning using Adobe Flash. The research was conducted to students of Grade X in 2 State High School in Semarang. Samples and subjects of the research were 32 students and 28 students of MIPA3 Grade X respectively. Research method of mix method with sequential exploratory model was used as a form of gathering qualitative data in order to produce both curiosity pattern and creative thinking ability reviewed from the students’ cognitive pattern. In addition, the research dep valuen was to collect and analyze qualitative data followed by analyzing and gathering qualitative data. Next, the results of the research were that (1) the Discovery Learning Model based on blended learning using Adobe Flash was quite effective in enhancing students creative thinking ability due to the planning and implementation of qualified learning, as well as in enhancing students’ curiosity and students’ mathematical creative thinking ability; (2) students’ mathematical curiosity pattern reviewed from cognitive pattern in learning was that students with impulsive cognitive pattern possessed patterns of searching and asking; exploring and searching; and exploring, searching and asking; whereas those with reflective cognitive pattern possessed exploring and searching; exploring, searching and asking; exploring, searching and finding; and exploring, searching, asking and finding.; (3) students’ mathematical creative thinking ability pattern reviewed from cognitive pattern in learning was that students with impulsive cognitive pattern showed patterns of fluency, and fluency and novelty, while those with reflective cognitive pattern showed fluency and flexibility, fluency, flexibility, and novelty.
