Abstract

This study aims to explain the heat equation in the Heat Exchanger in �" cylinder coordinates. Then the heat equation was solved using Fourier transform with inverse and convolution rules. The solution is done by reviewing the heat transfer on the Heat Exchanger radially and axially. It produces a solution equation which is then simplified into the form of an error function to be simulated. Furthermore, the simulation is carried out with several assumptions, namely (a) the type of pipe used has a different coefficient of thermal diffusivity (K), (b) the initial heating temperature is 50 ℃, and (c) heating is carried out at three different times ie when t = 300, t = 600 and t = 900. The simulation is then visualized using MATLABR2018a. The results obtained are (a) the equation of the heat transfer solution at the Heat Exchanger is a symmetrical function, (b) the Heat Exchanger pipe with the largest thermal diffusivity coefficient has a faster heat transfer, and (c) the heat transfer at t = 900 faster than t = 600, heat transfer when t = 600 is faster than t = 300.
