The experimental group was taught writing narrative text by using animation movies, while the control group was taught by using conventional method. The data were collected through a writing test. To obtain the data, the writer carried out three steps: pre-test, activities in experimentation, and post test. In the pre-test, the result of the two groups was nearly the same. The mean score of the experimental group was 47.74 and the mean score of the control group was 46.79. The very slight difference between the two groups indicated that the two groups were homogeneous. After receiving the different treatment, the two groups got the different results. The posttest mean score of the experimental group was 62.65 while the mean score of the control group was only 53.15.
