Abstract
School is a place to seek teaching and learning tips to help students implement their potential to achieve educational goals, including in music. Choir extracurricular activities at SMA N 1 Brebes can help students develop intellectually, socially, emotionally and morally according to their needs, potential, talents and interests outside the classroom. The problem studied in this research is how the choral extracurricular learning strategies and what are the supporting and inhibiting factors for the choir at SMA N 1 Brebes. The purpose of this study was to determine learning strategies and supporting and inhibiting factors for the choir at SMA N 1 Brebes. This research uses descriptive qualitative method. Direct observation can be started by paying attention to and examining the focus of the phenomenon to be studied, which sees various subjective aspects of the object's behavior. Sources of research data obtained from the stages of observation, interviews and documentation. The data analysis technique used is data reduction technique, data presentation, and data verification/conclusion drawing. Triangulation was used to test the credibility of this research. The sources, methods, and theory of the triangulation technique all contribute to the required validity of the data. The research location was carried out at SMA N 1 Brebes which is located at Jl. Dr. Setiabudi No. 11, RW. 6, Kaumanbaru, Kembangbaru, district. Brebes, Brebes Regency, Central Java. The results showed that during the process of implementing choral learning, the teacher used 3 learning strategies, namely the expository learning strategy where the delivery of learning material was structured with the hope that the choir material that had been delivered was well mastered by students, for example vocalization. Inquiry. Students do this exploration for themselves. Give them a metal straw to practice breathing. Contextual motivation motivates students to understand the meaning of the subject matter they learn by associating the material with the context of their daily lives. During its implementation there are supporting and inhibiting factors of learning. Suggestions for teachers are expected to continue to motivate, form discipline. Students are expected to be more confident and disciplined in participating in choir extracurricular learning. Based on the results of the research and discussion in this study, the researchers provide suggestions to coaches to increase creativity in carrying out learning, especially in overcoming differences in the quality of student musicality. Students should be able to wisely utilize the duration of choir extracurricular learning and be able to collaborate with teachers in carrying out learning.
