In the difficult conditions he tried to fulfill his basic needs as a human being. He hasn’t a problem about his physiological needs. His safety needs can be fulfilled because he has a steady job at railway company. He was being left and abandoned by his closest friends without any apparent reason. This show that his need for love and belonging cannot be fullfiled. Tsukuru feels insecure and lacking self confidence about himself shows that he can not fullfill his esteem needs.
