Abstract

The implementation of technology as one of the instructional media in the process of learning English has been become a trend. Related to teaching and learning process, the implementation of digital tool is now done in the classroom activity as well as the assessment process. There are some tools used by the teacher to assess student’s comprehension through technology, one of the examples is by using Quizizz.This study aimed to identify students’ perceptions, attitudes, and difficulties of using Quizizz as an online assessment media in the public junior high school in Semarang Regency. The participants in this study were 65 third-grade students of The public junior high school in Semarang Regency. This study focused on students’ perceptions, attitudes, and problem related to the students’ difficulties while using Quizizz as an online assessment media. This research used a descriptive qualitative method. The data collection in this study used questionnaire and interview. The results of this study were (1) students have a good perception of using Quizizz. (2) Students have a positive attitude towards using Quizizz in the assessment process. (3) A few students had difficulty using Quizizz as an assessment medium but most students efficiently use Quizizz when taking exams. Finally, the researcher concluded that students had a good attitude towards using Quizizz as an online assessment medium in the learning process.
