Abstract

This study was done to know how Think-Pair-Share technique was used by the teacher for enhancing senior high school students in word stress learning. The objectives were to describe the implementation of Think-Pair-Share technique is used by the teacher for enhancing word stress learning of the students, explain the advantages of using Think-Pair-Share technique in teaching and learning process and the teacher‟s experience using Think-Pair-Share technique for teaching word stress. In this study, I used qualitative case study method. The participants of this research were an English teacher of SMA Negeri 1 Kendal and eleventh-grade students of MIPA 1 SMA Negeri 1 Kendal in the academic year 2022/2023. In this study I used classroom observations, interviews, and document analysis for gathering the data. The result revealed that Think-Pair-Share technique helped enhamces students‟ word stress learning, where most of the students were taught using This technique felt motivated and enthusiatic in learning activities. This study also showed the advantages of using this technique in learning activities. Based on the interviews explained some advantages of Think-Pair�Share technique, there were helping the discussion process actively and for students were not afraid of making mistakes in pronouncing word stress, since they have discussed it with the pair first then their friend gives a comment/ feedback. Moreover, this technique also created the students were brave enough for coming forward sharing their opinion/ comment in front of the class. In conclusion, Think-Pair-Share technique helped for enhances students‟ word stress learning and gave many advantages for students in learning activites.
