Abstract

Deliksari, Sukorejo Village is located in Gunungpati Sub-district, Semarang City, where landslides often occur. However, the lack of socialization and information about the disaster in the community, especially the elementary school-age community, makes the low level of public knowledge of various disasters, especially landslides. The purpose of this research is to measure the level of knowledge of elementary school age community in Deliksari towards landslide disaster, analyze the effectiveness of landslide disaster education through leaflet media, and determine the attitude of elementary school age community in Deliksari in landslide disaster education. The population in this study was 49 people of elementary school age in Deliksari and the sample used was 30 people of elementary school age in Deliksari from grade 4 to grade 6. The approach used in this research is quantitative. The research is design used in this research is the descriptive method. The data used are observation, pre-test and post-test, questionnaire, and documentation. The variables in this study are the level of knowledge, the effectiveness of leaflet media use, and attitudes after being given landslide disaster education. The results showed that education that education using leaflet media to improve the knowledge of elementary school-age communities about landslides was effective. The leaflet media contained general information on landslide disasters that was not only displayed on the leaflet. The level of knowledge of the elementary school-age community in Deliksari towards landslide disasters by using leaflet media has an average pre-test score of 74,7 with good criteria and a post-test score of 89,1 with very good criteria. Based on the result of the answers to the effectiveness instrument, the score reached 79% which means that the leaflet media is very means that the leaflet media is very effective as a learning resource. Attitude is measured by the attitude instrument the results have a percentage of 78% the value shows that the attitude category is responsive. This shows that the elementary-age community in Deliksari can show a more responsive attitude after being given landslide disaster education. Some recommendations from this study are that the government or related agencies and private institutions engaged in disaster management can use leaflet media to provide scientific information on landslide disasters in general so that it is useful for the wider community, especially people living in landslide prone areas. Schools can develop leaflet media as learning media to maintain and improve students' knowledge with various materials, especially disaster material. The results of this study can also be a reference for strengthening community attitudes in disaster preparedness.
