Abstract
In a language classroom, a textbook is an essential tool for both teaching and learning. Textbooks serve a significant role in giving valuable inputs in exposing students to different cultural expressions and diversity of cultures. When they present a particular perspective of cultural systems and social creation to students, textbooks are ideology. Language is the embodiment of cultural reality, the medium through which cultural truths are communicated, and the symbols by which those truths are understood and communicated to others. The quality of a textbook used to educate students about culture (both their own and that of others) is ultimately determined by its sociocultural content. This study is a descriptive qualitative, In order to analyze the integration of sociocultural aspects into English textbooks. There are six sociocultural aspects analyzed they are Nomenclature, Address terms, Cultural info, Cultural sites, Socio-cultural tradition, and Etiquette. This study focuses on the analysis English textbook published by the Ministry of Education for Ten Grade in the Merdeka curriculum. The teaching materials presented in the foreign language textbooks observed in this study show "reality", which reflects the reality of the mode of use of a particular language, especially spoken ones, according to the socio-cultural values of the original speakers. Finally, The suggestions for the teacher must develop and look for some references from other textbooks that have local stories from students' cultural backgrounds, So that there are comparisons between Indonesian culture and foreign cultures since they should already know the story or legend from their own background culture. So that students have a well�rounded understanding of social and cultural practices in their own countries and around the world. So that the social and cultural learning in this textbook for students fits with the educational goal that cultural values are a driving force in the national education system that can help shape Indonesia's young people into people who are not only smart but also have good character and morals and for the next researcher are provide in the last section based on the result of the research.
