Abstract

The present study is aimed at investigating The Code Mixing Used by Nadiem Anwar Makarim on two choosen youtube video. This is descriptive qualitative research is conducted by observing and analysing the utterances from downloaded video on youtube as the data which then transcribed them in a written transcribe. The data analysis also included the types of code mixing, the reason of code mixing used therory from Hoffman (1991). Furthermore, the factor of code mixing used theory from Weinreich, (1979). The finding data shows from the first video there are 90 with the percentages 52% number of data intra sentential code mixing used by Nadiem Makarim and from the second video there are 4 (10%) number of data. The second types of code mixing that is intra lexical code mixing with number of data 81 with the percentages 47% from the first video and for the second video is 34 (87%). The last type of code mixing is involving change a pronounciation. These types of code mixing used by Nadiem Makarim it was involving change a pronounciation. The total data from the first video is 2 (1%) and from second video is 1 (3%). Furthermore, the reason of code mixing from first video is 18 and second video is 19 number of data that used by Nadiem Makarim. The last is factors of code mixing. From first video is 19 and the second video is 6 number of data.
