Abstract

The learning outcomes of students' Creative Products and Entrepreneurship (PKK) subjects have decreased, this is because many students think that PKK subjects are boring subjects because most students only memorize and are unable to relate what they have learned and apply it to students. new situation, so that students are not yet independent and still depend on other people in working on PKK subject matter. In addition there are also students who are still less active in class, as well as the lack of interest of students to read books, these three factors are some of the causes of student learning outcomes in PKK subjects which are still experiencing a decline. Based on this background, the purpose of this study was to determine the effect of independent learning, student activity and reading interest on learning outcomes in the subject of Creative Products and Entrepreneurship (PKK) for class XII students of SMK Negeri 1 Kendal. The research design used is causality research and a quantitative approach. The population in this study were 12th grade students at SMK Negeri 1 Kendal, Patebon District, Kendal Regency, totaling 447 students. Sampling using probability sampling technique proportional random sampling type. Determining the number of samples using the Slovin formula with an error rate of 5%, so it is known that the research sample is 211 students. Data collection was carried out using a questionnaire method. The analysis technique uses descriptive statistical analysis and uses multiple linear regression analysis. The results of the study show that independent learning affects learning outcomes, student activeness influences learning outcomes, and interest in reading influences learning outcomes. The variable that has the greatest influence on learning outcomes is reading interest of 18.49%, while the effect of independent learning on learning outcomes is 8.12% and student activity on learning outcomes is 8.70%. Based on the results of the research above, the suggestions in this study are (1) It is hoped that students can increase their learning independence by focusing on learning and doing assignments; (2) the teacher should trigger students to explore by asking questions before learning; (3) Students can increase literacy activities related to growing interest in reading. This is done for better and increased student learning outcomes in mathematics.
