Abstract

This research explains about English Teachers’ Perception toward ICT in EFL Class. This study aims to see how the response of English teachers to the development of ICT in education, especially in language education. There are many tools that can be used in language teaching but teachers have not used them optimally. The qualitative case study approach was used as the method of this study by developing a questionnaire and interview. Data of this qualitative case study was taken from survey through questionnaire and interview which was administered to six respondents. The respondents of this study were two English teachers from MTs NU 06 Sunan Abinawa Pegandon Kendal, two English teachers from MTs NU 07 Patebon Kendal and two English teachers from MTs NU 08 Gemuh Kendal. The research found that there are six English teachers who were familiar and have used ICT in their class. Six English teachers used ICT services as a tool for teaching and learning in classroom. The teachers used the kinds of ICT in English language teaching like LCD, laptops, speaker active, PowerPoint, online English dictionary. English teachers have positive perspectives about the implementation of ICT as a helpful learning tool. ICT have a significant impact on English education which make the students happy, easy to understand the lesson, motivated to learn and enthusiastic about ICT.
