Abstract

The background of this research is the physical condition of the athletes of the Semarang Emas Program (PSE) in the squash sport which has not been analyzed in detail. The purpose of this study was to analyze the physical condition of the components of VO2max, speed, agility, strength, flexibility of PSE Squash Athletes in Semarang City. This type of research is descriptive quantitative research. The population in this study used all PSE Squash athletes in Semarang City. The research sample used was 8 athletes from the Semarang Emas Program (PSE) in Semarang City. The sampling technique was determined by the total sampling technique. The instrument in this study used physical condition test items, namely body mass index, sit and reach, sit ups, push ups, 20 meter sprint, VO2 max test, vertical jump, and quadrant jump. Based on the results of the analysis, it is found that the physical components in squash sports consist of VO2max, speed, agility, strength, and flexibility. Each of these physical conditions plays a role in the training process to form good technique in squash. The conclusion of the study shows that the results of the measurements that have been made can be used as a reference in measuring physical abilities and squash techniques, especially in PSE Squash Semarang City.
