Abstract
Soil liquefaction is a phenomenon where saturated, loose, sandy soil loses its strength, commonly as a result of static and dynamic loads, which are generally caused by earthquakes. The static and dynamic loads that are transferred into the soil cause a significant increase in pore water pressure, resulting in a reduction in effective soil stress. In Indonesia, the soil liquefaction phenomenon has occurred many times, including in Yogyakarta in 2006, Lombok and Palu in 2018. Performing triaxial static testing with the consolidated undrained (CU) condition is one method for evaluating soil liquefaction. In this study, triaxial testing under CU conditions was conducted to evaluate the soil liquefaction potential of Rembang silica sand. The tests were carried out in the loose sand with relative density (
