Abstract

Numeracy is abilities in dealing with everyday life problems by applying mathematics. This ability is called numeracy. The development of student numeracy cannot be separated from the innovation and creativity created by teachers. The use of learning media can also help teachers develop student numeracy. The use of Android media with ethnomathematics nuances can be used for problem based learning (PBL) model learning so that students become more active and enthusiastic in participating in learning. This research aims to produce products that are valid, practical, effective in increasing student numeracy. This type of research is research and development (R&D) with the ADDIE development model (analyze, design, development, implementation, evaluation). The subjects used in this research were teachers and students of class V at SD Negeri Tonjong 01 Brebes, totaling 64 students. Data collection techniques in this research are questionnaires, interviews, observation, written tests and documentation. The data analysis technique used is quantitative analysis. Quantitative analysis was carried out using descriptive statistics. In addition, normality tests, homogeneity tests, tests were carried outpaired sample t-test, N-gain test, and testindependent sample t-test. The research results show that, (1) the assessment results from the three media validators obtained an average score, including material experts of 3.33, media experts of 3.9 and language experts of 3.69 on very appropriate criteria., (2) the practicality of android media with ethnomathematics nuances based on teacher responses got an average score of 3.78 on very practical criteria, (3) the practicality of android media with ethnomathematics nuances based on students' responses got a percentage of 100% on very practical criteria, (4) the effectiveness of android media with nuances ethnomathematics assessed from the N-Gain Score test for the experimental class (android media with an ethnomathematics nuance in PBL) was 0.7876 in the high category, and the N-Gain percent was 78.76% in the high category, apart from the classical completion of the students' numeracy scores reached 75%. The results of hypothesis testing using the independent sample t-test show that the Sig. (2-tailed) obtained is 0.000 < 0.05, so that Android media with ethnomathematics nuances is effective and has a significant effect in increasing student numeracy. Based on the data analysis carried out, it can be concluded that Android media with an ethnomathematics nuance in the problem based learning (PBL) model has proven to be feasible, practical and effective for increasing student numeracy.
