Abstract
The COVID-19 pandemic has impacted all aspects of life, including education. All levels of education are required to conduct online learning by implementing an emergency curriculum. Many obstacles arise during online learning, one of which is communication between the principal and teachers which has an impact on the online learning process. The purpose of the study was to determine the principal's communication skills to teachers in implementing the emergency curriculum. This study uses qualitative methods and data collection techniques using interviews, observation and documentation. The research subjects are principals and teachers. The results of the study are that the communication skills possessed by the principal will have an effect on the implementation of the emergency curriculum in educational institutions. An open school climate helps principals communicate to teachers and parents about implementing the emergency curriculum. The inhibiting factors that arise are the busyness of parents in accompanying children to learn from home and the limited use of communication devices makes parents have difficulty in delivering material to children at home.
