Abstract

The pandemic has changed curriculum and learning methods. That condition made the history teachers required a special strategy which was compatible with students necessity in history learning. These learning strategies are still based on the applicable curriculum. This research has goal to explain: (1) The implementation of emergency curriculum at SMA Negeri 1 Randublatung, (2) The teachers strategy of the emergency curriculum implementation on history learning (3) The constraints that are faced by history teachers while implementing emergency curriculum on history learning. This research applied qualitative method and took place at SMA Negeri 1 Randublatung. History teacher, principal, vice principal of curriculum division, and students had the same role as the research informant. The techniques of data collection were in-depth interview, direct observation and documentation. The technique of data validation was sources triangulation. The techniques of data analysis embraced data collection, data reduction, data presentation and conclusion. The result of this research showed, SMA Negeri 1 Randublatung has (1) the implementation of the Emergency Curriculum at SMA Negeri 1 Randublatung was carried out by preparing classroom and public facilities and infrastructure as well as socialization regarding health protocols in schools. In addition, the implementation of the Emergency Curriculum is carried out by condensing material and reducing time in learning. (2) Except utilized apps media inside the phone, history teachers strategy was using various learning models and methods in each meeting. In addition, the history teachers also utilized local history as a content which connected to the history learning. (3) On the other side, they had a constraint as the students got minimal enthusiasm and interenst in history learning. Then, the history teachers have always motivated their students to face thst constraint. From the research results, it can be concluded that the implementation of the Emergency Curriculum at SMA Negeri 1 Randublatung is running well and smoothly, although it has not been implemented optimally. The existence of obstacles in learning history does not become a significant obstacle for history teachers because history teachers have strategies and solutions in carrying out the learning process in the implementation of the Emergency Curriculum. Based on the results of the research and these conclusions, suggestions are made to use different learning strategies in each meeting. In addition, schools can also improve facilities such as historical books and reading materials and provide training on innovative historical learning media for history teachers.
