Abstract

Coastal waters are an area that is prone to pollution, seeing the location of Tanjung Mas Semarang which is located in a coastal area, most of the population there make a living as fishermen, fish processing entrepreneurs and ponds and other work related to the sea such as PLTU, Tanjung Mas Port, and industry, where these activities have the potential to cause problems, one of which is pollution by heavy metal lead. In fact, it is found in the field that local people use fish along the waters for consumption, so it is necessary to pay attention to considering the presence of Pb contaminants that are toxic, carcinogenic, accumulation and bioamgnification which can have a negative impact on humans, namely the emergence of disease. This study aims to determine the content of heavy metal Pb in water and which accumulates in fish meat. This research was conducted using an exploratory/observational design with the determination of sampling using purposive random sampling technique. The analytical method to test the heavy metal content of Pb in water and fish meat was using AAS (Atomic Absorbtion Spectrophotometry) spectrophotometer. The results showed that the concentration of lead heavy metal in water in 5 locations ranged from 0-0.015 mg/L, some of which had exceeded the threshold set by PP RI No. 22 Th. 2021 is 0.05 mg/L, while the heavy metal content of lead in fish meat ranges from 0-9.973 mg/kg. Based on the calculation of the bioaccumulation value at location V, it shows a higher category than other locations, namely the category of moderate accumulation. This value exceeds the threshold set by SNI 7387:2009 which is 2.5 mg/kg. The conclusion from the research that has been done, based on the measurement results of heavy metal Pb contained in water and meat has partially exceeded the specified threshold. This needs attention and caution, considering that heavy metals are toxic, carcinogenic, bioaccumulative and biomagnifying and although in small amounts, they are still dangerous and can cause chronic poisoning.
