Abstract

The factor of increasing population growth and accompanied by a consumptive lifestyle is the main cause of the high volume of waste in various cities. The process of transporting waste to each region has several problems, including the absence of a determination of the route for transporting waste. Based on these conditions, a study is needed, especially optimization of the garbage truck transportation route so that it is expected to maximize waste transportation and shorten the travel time. This research was conducted in the city of Cirebon. The objectives of this study are: (1) to determine the route applied in the DLH Cirebon City, (2) determine the optimal route of travel for arm roll truck waste transportation using GIS in the city of Cirebon, (3) find out the comparison of the waste transportation route applied by the DLH Cirebon City with GIS. The population in this study is the driver of the DLH arm roll truck waste transportation vehicle in Cirebon City with the determination of the sample using the saturated sample technique, while the sample in this study amounted to 9 samples of arm roll truck vehicle drivers. Data was collected by means of interviews, field observations and documentation. Then data analysis is done by description and network analysis through ArcGIS application. The results of the comparison study of the time and distance of the Cirebon City environmental service route with network analysis obtained the mileage and average travel time of the existing route for the Cirebon City area is 8.26 km with an average travel time of 22 minutes 26 seconds while the distance traveled is 22 minutes 26 seconds. and the travel time after the simulation using the route network analysis results the distance is 8.30 km with a travel time of 20 minutes 36 seconds. A travel route determined based on the shortest mileage does not necessarily mean the shortest travel time because there are several obstacle factors such as red light stops, railroad crossings, and road density which of course can hinder the trip, on the contrary, routes that have longer distances can travel in the shortest time, this is because routes that cover longer distances have fewer obstacles. The conclusion of this research is that the route of waste transportation is determined by the driver of the arm roll truck vehicle who is in charge of transporting waste at each designated TPS. The results obtained from network analysis provide a more optimal route selection in terms of time. Suggestions in this study need to add a container or replace the garbage container and add a cover for the garbage container so that the garbage doesn't scatter or fly around during the waste transportation process.
