Abstract

The success of a learning is shown by the success of students in mastering the material. Mastery of the material is the ability of students to understand learning materials after the learning activities are completed. The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of the influence of independent learning, parental attention, and student activity on the mastery of accounting computer materials with learning motivation as a mediating variable. The population in this study were students of class XI and XII majoring in accounting at SMK Bhinneka Karya 1 Boyolali as many as 86 students who were all respondents. The independent variables in this study were independent learning, parental attention, and student activity. While the dependent variable in this study is the mastery of the material with learning motivation as a mediating variable. The data collection technique used in this study was using tests and questionnaires. The data analysis technique used descriptive analysis, path analysis and sobel test. The results of the descriptive analysis showed that learning independence, parental attention, student activity, learning motivation and material mastery were in the high category. Based on the results of the hypothesis test, it shows that learning independence has a positive effect on learning motivation and mastery of the material, and parental attention has a positive effect on learning motivation and material mastery, while student activity does not have a positive effect on learning motivation and mastery of the material. Learning motivation is not able to mediate the effect of student activity on mastery of the material, but learning motivation is able to mediate the effect of learning independence and parental attention on material mastery. Based on this research, the suggestion that can be given is that the teacher should pay attention to the students during the learning process in order to know the extent of the mastery of the material possessed by the students. So that it can determine whether the steps need to be re-explained or not. Parents should increase their attention in the field of education so that students are more active and diligent and able to develop their education.
