Abstract
This research investigates the impacts of a broken family towards human’s personality as seen in Eleanor and Park (2013) novel. This issue is important because family holds the significant effects in humans’ life. The fact that the problem about the issue of broken family can affect human’s personality and their life stability is true, it is also well portrayed on Rainbow Rowell’s Eleanor and Park novel. This research aims to analyze the impacts of broken family issues in human’s personality. By applying Carl Jung’s typology theory and B.F. Skinner’s behaviourism theory, the results show that broken family issues negatively affect human’s personality. The main character shows several changes; having negative thoughts, insecurity, comparing herself to others, lying, and stealing behaviour. The result also shows that the main character has an introverted attitude of personality specifically introverted thinking, sensing, and feeling as a result of having broken family issues.
