Abstract

This study was conducted to find out whether the use of the MindMeister application is effective or not to improve students’ tenses achievement. This study used quantitative research with a quasi-experimental design. The population was the tenth grade students of SMAN 1 Kembang in the academic year 2021/2022 and the sample consist of two classes consisting of 18 students as an experimental group (X IPS 1) taught by using mind mapping method using the MindMeister application and 18 students as the control group (X IPS 3) taught by using a conventional method. The form of the test that was used in the test instrument was multiple choice with the total is 30 item questions. The pre-test was given before the treatment and the post-test was given after the treatment. The result of the data was calculated using SPSS 25.0. The data showed that the calculation of the mean score of the pre�test and post-test in the experimental group was 43.44 < 79.33 while the control group was 42.11 < 60.72. The result of the data analysis t-test showed that tvalue was 4.132 while ttable was 2.032. Based on this, it means that tvalue was higher than ttable. Thus, it can be concluded that the use of MindMeister application was effective to improve the students’ tenses achievement.
